As an auctioneer Charlie has spent the last 40 years travelling the world conducting many high profile and high value auctions. His well-known charity auctions have raised many millions of pounds for a large number of charities. Charlie has regularly been seen on a number of BBC television programmes including Bargain Hunt, for which he is one of the presenters.

He is the resident auctioneer for Gooding & Company, the leading American vintage automobile auctioneers. The highlight of 2025’s Amelia Island auction in the US was the 1903 Mercedes Simplex. It sold for $12.1 million! His theatre show, Antiques and a Little Bit of Nonsense, which began in 2023, continues to fill theatres around the UK - www.antiquesontour.co.uk.

Charlie has been involved with music over the past 50 years having sung leading roles with both Bicester Choral & Operatic Society and Oxford Operatic Society - his favourite being Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. When time allows, he sings with The Phoenix Singers.

He has recently published his autobiography SOLD! which contains many amusing stories about his life as an auctioneer.
